…and here comes Widget Update!
![]()
It has taken a bit longer than I expected, but version 1.5.2 of Widget Update is also available as a free download now! You can grab it here and read the release notes here.
Basically, this update addresses the layout changes at Apple, MacUpdate and VersionTracker, improvements to the non-standard version numbers at DashboardWidgets.com (they only allow a single dot in a version number) as well as some minor changes.
App Update receives a little update today, too, because MacUpdate have changed their layout a bit again. Many thanks to the 10,000 people who have downloaded App Update in the past 6 days, and extra-thanks to everybody who has donated!

I’m not sure where to post this - my apologies if I have missed an obvious feedback route.
Widget Update is currently reporting an updated version of the Package Tracker widget, but the update is actually a freestanding application of the same name. Is there any way to convince Widget Update to ignore this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Just right-click a found update and choose “Mark version as installed” to ignore an update. However, in this case, you may miss updates to the Package Tracker widget since the application of the same name is currently at a much higher version number than the widget.
Therefore, you can also make Widget Update find the right page for the Package Tracker widget directly by supplying a MacUpdate ID, VersionTracker ID, Apple URL or DBW ID. Consult the built-in help file for a guide on how to do this (Flip the widget over, click ‘Advanced’, then ‘Help’. You can also read this help file in the browser).
As far as feedback is concerned, you can get my email address from the bottom of every page on the blog or from the “about” page.
